Fire alarm inspection, testing, verification & repair
Certified fire alarm technicians for condos, rental buildings, offices, plazas and industrial units across Vaughan and York Region. Fire alarm installation, S536 annual inspections, S537 verification, testing and repairs, with the reports your board, insurer and fire department ask for.
Annual inspection & testing (S536)
In plain language: the Ontario Fire Code requires an annual inspection and testing of the fire alarm system to the S536 standard. Our certified fire alarm technicians carry out that annual work and give you a written report with a deficiency list. Monthly tests are typically the owner's or management's duty ā we focus on the annual inspection and can include annual emergency lighting in the same visit.
We test and inspect:
- the control unit and annunciators
- initiating devices: smoke and heat detectors, pull stations, sprinkler flow and supervisory switches
- audible and visual signal devices
- batteries and power supplies
- monitoring signal transmission
You receive a written inspection report with a deficiency list.
Verification (S537)
Verification of new systems, and of existing systems after additions, alterations or device replacements, for example after a suite renovation, tenant fit-out or panel replacement. It is coordinated with the electrical work, so there is one contractor for both.
Periodic testing & repairs
Monthly and periodic tests, trouble and supervisory signal troubleshooting, device replacement, wiring faults, battery replacement, and correction of deficiencies from any inspection report (ours or another firm's).
Fire alarm installation
Our certified fire alarm technicians install fire alarm systems in new spaces and extend or modify existing systems, for example during a renovation, suite upgrade or tenant fit-out.
- New fire alarm system installation
- Additions and device changes to existing systems
- Wiring coordinated with the electrical work, so there is one contractor for both
- S537 verification once the installation is complete
Emergency lighting tie-in
Emergency lighting and exit sign testing in the same visit, with one combined report. See emergency lighting & exit signs.
