EV charging for condos, workplaces and commercial buildings

EV charger installation for condo corporations, workplaces, fleets and commercial properties.

How we approach it

  • Load assessment and panel capacity checks
  • Load management where capacity is limited
  • ESA permit and inspection
  • Installation of leading brands such as Leviton, FLO, ChargePoint and Grizzl-E

Condominiums

In Ontario, EV charging requests from condo owners follow the process set out under the Condominium Act, 1998 in O. Reg. 48/01 (see the official regulation for the application and response requirements). We can assess the building's electrical capacity and quote the installation for the board.

Board-ready condo EV offer

Material your board can review before approving an installation:

Load assessment

We assess the building's electrical capacity and identify what is available for EV charging without overloading the service.

Scope & drawings

A clear scope of work and drawings the board can review as part of the approval process.

Load management & submetering

Where capacity is limited, we can propose load management and discuss submetering options so charging stays within the building's limits.

ESA permit & inspection

We take out the ESA permit and arrange inspection so the installation is documented for the corporation's records.

Official process: O. Reg. 48/01 under the Condominium Act, 1998.

Frequently asked questions

What does the condo board need to approve?

In Ontario, EV charging requests from condo owners follow the process in O. Reg. 48/01 under the Condominium Act, 1998. We provide a load assessment and a clear scope the board can review before approving.

Who pays for condo EV chargers?

That depends on the corporation's rules and the regulation process. Often the requesting owner pays for installation related to their stall; shared infrastructure may be allocated differently. We scope the electrical work; the board decides cost allocation.

Can you do multi-stall and single-stall installs?

Yes. We install single chargers and multi-stall setups, including load management where the building's capacity is limited.

Do you pull an ESA permit?

Yes. EV charger installation is notifiable electrical work. We take out the ESA permit and arrange inspection.
